I find it a good thing that this medium of communication by comments is strictly textual, because my current fangirl-like squeaking state is quite indecorous. In other words:

DD's are to promote less recognized artists

That would be ideal, instead DDs go to whatever the admin wants. I've seen art on the popular front page one day get a DD the next day, popular artists get DDs, and some artists constantly getting them (almost as fast as the rules allow). Mean while truly good art from unknown artists will remain invisible, because there's no way for a DD admin to come upon it if they never see it.

Well I always thought that this would be the way.
But that the unknown artist remain unknown is true, I guess too many people don't know how to recommend a DD to an admin.
Maybe dA should make it easier for people to do it. Maybe by implementing a "Suggest" -> "Daily Deviation" right under the Favorite button.

I think an automated form would be good, maybe not on every deviation page, but make it easy to fill out with a link and reason, and automatically send it to the right admin based on the deviation type. Right now it's a nightmare to suggest deviations, so only artists with rabid fans get suggested.
