Mizuna is a scientist, well researcher, who specializes in herbal medicines, hence why she became a nurse and later a full fledged doctor, what you may not know is that it was exposure to her own herbal medicines is what caused her elasticity powers to come in, during an incident in her youth, further exposure gave her the ability to turn into a slime girl, because of her slime like properties (as well as some plant ones) her body can absorb things to grow, such as water, don't worry though she's done this before in smaller bodies of water and earth is fine, she won't dry it out but hey, she's having fun and learning more and more about herself in the process, all and all, it works out
