Here he is, ladies and gentlemen! A young and cute Howl Jenkins
Hadn't drawn him for a long time
Today, on the 18th of June, 2015 I am celebrating my 5 years of being an artist. Like every child of course, I loved drawing and I was doing it frequently, but it was on the 18th of June, 2010 that I decided, I wanted to be an anime artist. The first character I ever drew, was Howl Jenkins. Back then, I was 12 years old and my goal was to make a perfect Howl.
So this is why, every 18th of June and 2nd of February (Diana placed Howl's Birthday on that day) I will draw Howl Jenkins, because this character and the movie Howl's Moving Castle Was the beginning of me as an artist.

I love how you used figures that are the actual Studio Ghibli style, but you overlay them with your own painting. I think it's an excellent way to honor the original artists' style while also illustrating your own emotional outlook on these moments from the film. It's "fanart" that has surpassed "fanart", if that makes sense

You so understand me! I don't like using my style to re-draw the characters. I have my own ocs for that. I prefer to see them as they are drawn by the original artists but with a touch of mine, either it's the background or something else. I want the people to recognise them as fast as possible!

So many artists think of fan art as just "redrawing other people's characters" but honestly, there is so much more to it than that. It's one artist saying, "I love your work, so I wanted to honor it by showing you my emotional interpretation of the awesome thing you did" to another artist. You definitely show that concept with your works :3

Well, that's what having a personal artistic style is all about
Us writers too, we develop our own style based on what we like and dislike from various genres and established practices. We hone these bits and pieces into something new, personal, and unique to ourselves. Personal style is about growth and development. It's fun to revisit our old styles from time to time, but, for me at least, it's always meant as a bit of nostalgia.

that's right! I opened some old sketchbooks and papers I had drawn on. Man, you can't imagine, I got cancer - my eyes didn't remember what I was drawing. But on the other hand, I was 12... and I had just started... and I can feel the fondness and the love I had, everytime I did it. I remember, that summer was my best. I had learnt so many things. I loved it!

That can be applied to so many things, honestly. Even just living. We all have to take things one day at a time, otherwise we're setting ourselves up to be overwhelmed. Even if one day is a little bit "off", tomorrow is always a chance for a better day :3
