not that it's bad, but no motion no matter how good should have to be purchased. I don't care if it's from Crypton themselves, they're going to give it out for free. Ex. iMarine Project's official motions

your totally allowed to have that opinion, BUT
i don't know if you've had any experience animating frame by frame but its extreemly time consuming and tedious work, the iMarine Project's official motions are motion capture so they arent hard to make at all, it takes no skill to produce those, you just need a dancer and acess to mocap studio.\
when i do a motion commission, i ask them if they would allow me to share their request publicly, it would not be fair to them if i made them pay for it and let everyone else get it for free, so i charge the same for everyone.
my motions are EXTREEMLY cheep, for the amount of hours i put in im practicly working in a sweatshop for 10 cents per hour
like i said, your allowed to have your opinion, but hopefully you can see things from my point of view

2000 points is equal to about $25 USD. That's ridiculously expensive. Making money from commissioning custom motions is one thing, but making everyone pay $25 just to download it? I can't imagine you'll see a lot of profit.

I hope you realize that as the world continues to move, money is slowly becoming part of just even trying to SURVIVE! Rhi took out time just to make us these motions and it is literally bothersome that no one seems to see that there is nothing wrong to ask someone to pay for something that THEY made... and think about the people who commissioned it... how would you feel if something that you payed for suddenly becomes free? The value of the thing is no longer there. So before you go on to say BS about these motions, go educate yourself.

I looked into commissioning a motion from someone else once. I did this because there's a band I really like and I wanted other people to make videos with their music, because it would help to spread that band's music. I wanted that motion to be freely available to everyone because I knew that nobody was ever going to make a motion for this band unless I commissioned them. And I don't have the skill to do it myself. So to answer your question, I would feel pretty great because I helped create something that wasn't available previously and now everyone else can use it. Commissioning something that doesn't exist is different than buying something that someone has already made or was going to make anyways.
I could go into the first part of your comment and how bad of an idea it would be if everyone who made models or motions started to charge money for them but tbh I don't think it matters because it's not like I'm gonna be able to stop it if that's what ends up happening.

If your unhappy about the price then don’t buy it. I happen to spend a lot of time on these motions.
$25 is actually cheap compared to other prices dude I don’t know where you got that from. $25 for about a months worth of my work? That’s way below minimum wage!!

What I mean is, charging someone who wants you to make a motion $25-50 is totally reasonable. Commissions are a-ok.
Charging every person who wants to use it that much money is crazy, especially when most of these songs other people in the community have made good, free motions for. (Luka Luka, Nostalogic, Yellow etc)
People in this community just don't charge money to download motions. I've literally never seen anyone else do it and idk why you would when 97% of the community releases everything they make for free.

These are commissions. People commissioned these then after some time I release it for paid download. I’m not going to release something for free when someone has requested and paid for it.
If you think there are better free motions out there then GO DOWNLOAD THOSE.
If you took any time to research my motions before having this opinion you would see I actually do release free motions now and then. Also people in this community DO charge points for models, parts and motions, I happen to be in a situation where a few extra bucks is really necessary.
Just because the “whole” community does something doesn’t mean I need to conform...
Idk if ur just mad cause you can’t afford it or what but plenty of people do appreciate the effort I put in my work and do download my motions, so maybe what you thought about the community is wrong.
What I charge isn’t “crazy”. I should be charging more for the hours of work I put into these motions.
