A backstory of sorts with one of the sketches I did earlier. A bit on the nose on this one 😄

Christopher bought a nice pair of flip flops online. Though it seemed like a new seller with zero sold so far, the price seemed affordable and it had a neat honeycomb design. They were also pretty comfortable after trying them out. But after a few weeks, he couldn't help but notice ads popping up about taking paw massages, paw therapy and even anti-footpaw odor products. He wasn't sure why these ads were targeting him lately, nor was he sure what was causing it. Little did Christopher know that he was being watched, and it was all happening quite literally beneath his feet.

What Christopher failed to realize was that the honeycomb design was there for a reason. It was actually a sensor mesh designed to scan whatever was on top of it, and it just so happened those were his footpaws. Quite literally thousands of tiny cameras taking an incredibly high resolution picture of his feet, from the bottom of his heels to the very intricate and detailed textures imprinted on his pawpads and up until his toe claws. The sensors scanned everything from a highly detailed photo scan to biometric for the pawpad prints, humidity, pressure, heat, sensitivity. It can even detect the bacterial infestation and his paws had quite a significant bit of it across his soles, particularly the space and crevices between the pawpads, whether Chris knew or not. It could even determine the heart rate. And all these data were being recorded and sent back to the manufacturer through a wireless transmitter that uploads the data once it reaches a wifi network. And that's not all, the entire thing is powered entirely by Christopher's own footpaws. The mechanical energy applied by his paws to the slippers are converted to energy with incredible efficiency. And if that was not enough, the manufacturer has complete control over the settings of the slipper. In this case, the manufacturer stealthily changed the humidity settings to High, which makes the flip flop slightly warmer causing his paws to sweat. The honeycomb design also helps in trapping moisture in those tiny hexagonal spaces. All of these are creating the perfect environment for bacteria to thrive and give that unique smell that footpaws are known for as the records show that there was a significant increase in bacterial activity as well as more areas of the footpaws affected compared to the first transmission.

Never has there been a product that has granted so much access and control over a person and his footpaws, and all this was happening while the fox is oblivious about all the shady things happening under him. The manufacturer grins knowing that some advertisers will become very interested about this potential client and also perhaps he took a bit of pleasure knowing that the stink problem the unaware fox was dealing with was of his own doing. In effect, Christopher had not only unwittingly given advertisers some rather personal and sensitive information about his feet, but his feet are also now at the mercy of the seemingly inconspicuous footwear that he thinks are harmless.
