EDIT: Tweaked a few more things with the face and the general 'dirtiness' of the whole image. Hopefully it looks less teenager with a beard now.Something I made over the weekend, Trying to get a bit more of a narrative going on with the characters. I loved the book the Road, a story about a father and son in a post apocalyptic wasteland, and I thought it might be interesting to use the idea but in a much more positive light. Just some weary travelers exploring the ruins of cities many years after some kind of societal collapse. Bit cliche but better than 'GIRL WITH SWORD VIII'.
Could have done with more polish but I'm really trying to avoid slipping back into old habits of taking months over things. Maybe I'm just being lazy I don't know haha. Approximately 15 hours, no refs.

I love how when it was a thumbnail, that little kid looked like he was from a photo. Actually, the whole thing looked like a photo, but not at the same time. Great job and wonderful attention to detail.

You really nailed the story, here. I dig the alternating between flat, sharp shapes and the smoothness of your forms. Also, support bear/bunny backpacks.

I think theres a lot of great narrative in here man, lots of great more subtle things that really make you think about it all. The fact that the dad is focusing on us and the kid is in his own thoughts is very nice too.

I especially love your use of color on the boy and the reflective lighting in the shadows, it's details like these that really set artists apart when doing more realistic work and you seem to be catching on quite nicely!
