Beautiful songbirds enjoy an abundance of food in the midst of a hard winter only because one kind soul makes the trek daily to resupply a bird feeding station. So many birds that might overwise starve seem able to extend the mating season sharing rituals into this frozen wintertime. Their beauty and song abound now where otherwise there would only be wind and cold, ice and snow. A snowy owl watches, apparently content to simply observe the banquet in progress.
