Nikolai was born on Moscú, Russia; always loving to play around the city, he being an energetic child, usually loves being around people, but living in a house as a single child, little Nikolai only depended on his parents, which sadly, all the time used to go in and out for business traveling, leaving him alone with his grandmother, that didn't had the same energy than him.
In the town where he lived, he was known by a lot as "Klyki" which in russian means fangs, that's because of his canine teeth, they were sharp enough like fangs, but he didn't really get bothered by it, in fact, he liked it!
One time, at the age of 13 yrs old, while walking around the main square of the town, Saw a woman with a beautiful Malamute, the woman was carrying a box and looked really sad, Nikolai knew a lot of people from the town he lived so he was also a curious boy, he started a conversation with the woman and asked what was in the box and saw 2 malamute puppies, He thought they were the cutest thing on the world, when he asked why the puppies were in a box, the woman replied that she wanted to put them in adoption because sadly, there was no space on her home for more dogs, and she had no relatives that could take them.
Nikolai's eyes shinned hearing that, he could take care of the puppies! His parents and grandma have been trying to find a way to make Nikolai less lonely, so, what a better way to accomplish that that getting a couple of pets? As the lady handed the box with the puppies, she wished the best of luck to him, and that made sure to love those puppies because they would do the same to him, because dogs were some of the most loyal and loving creatures a human could have bonds with.
Those words resonated on Nikolai's head, he would make sure nothing bad happened to his new fluffy friends, Kosmos and Iriska, after showing them to his grandma, She gladly accepted the idea of having the puppies around the house, She loved dogs very dearly, they had a big place for the puppies to play, besides living near forest areas, they could take care of both Kosmos and Iriska, his parents didn't seemed to have problems either so since then, Kosmos and Iriska were now a vital part of his life
As the years went by, Nikolai and both his dogs grew, all the time running, training, Nikolai never felt so close to someone as much as he was with his dogs, but not everything was sunshine and lollipops, when Nikolai turned 14, His grandma died, Nikolai was devastated, the one that took care of him most part of his childhood died, a terrible depression hitted him like a baseball bat, to the point of harming himself few times, smoking, even started drinking at a very young age, but every time, his dogs would give him more emotional support that his parents never did, so basically, his dogs saved him for a vicious life of addictions like smoking and alcohol. So as far as he knows, the only family he has left are Kosmos and Iriska.
He decided to work on his depression and instead of hurting himself, decided to keep working with his dogs, things started looking better for him, he got to distract himself from emotional pain with intense trainings in the cold weather and training his dogs, one day, while training in a dog's park with Kosmos and Iriska, he saw a couple of dogs acting quite...bad, they were growling at the dogs and their owners, biting everything, it wasn't a common dog behavior, people were afraid of those dogs and the owners didn't knew what to do, Nikolai decided to take action and approach both dogs and their owners, who were clearly struggling with both, Nikolai applied the knowledge he got by taking care of Kosmos and Iriska, and by surprise of everyone, he managed to calm both dogs like they've never seen before, nobody could believe what they just witnessed, after explaining how to control the behavior of the dogs to the respective owners, Nikolai gained quite the popularity in the area thanks to the little show with the dogs.
Since he was well known in the town, people would go frequently to ask him for help of how to deal with their dogs, how to apply discipline without hurting them, anything you can think of that was elated with dogs, and since then, he turned into the Ultimate Dog whisperer
Once checking his mail, besides letters asking for tips or packages from people that showed him gratitude for helping them and their dogs, he found a particular letter that said he was invited to join Hope's Peak International Academy, he decided to go, because a new adventure it's always welcome on Nikolai's life, not to forget he was now considered the Ultimate Dog whisperer, he packed and took his dogs with him to join the adventure, one hell of adventure that nobody suspects yet
