The Cabugi volcano, also called Cabuji, is an extinct volcano located 8 km away from the city of Lajes in the state of Rio Grande Do Norte, Brazil. The volcano was not strong enough to become active and therefore remains extinct. The volcano served as a key point for the Portuguese colonization in the new lands and then they soon arrived in the territory that today would be Brazil. According to a study, there is a chance that this volcano could become active, since the state of Rio Grande Do Norte is close to the border of the South American plate.
