i just finished the first part of my project on the 151 first generation pokemonit is 44,544 beads and 1.27 meters wide and 87 cm high.
the finished piece will be 2.25 meter high..
it's made from hama and nabbi beads (aka. other brands of perler beads)

its attched to a MDF board (tree) with some strong double sided tape sheets.
and im going to paint it over with a thin layer of epoxy.

but i'll also tell you that im pretty limited on colors.. because 100 different colors actually isnt that many, have 4 (6) different orange nuances..
like have you tried actually working with beads, getting all the colors to match..

i didnt iron it 
i used some strong double sided tape, to put it on the background board, and painted a thin layer of epoxy over it, to keet it in place

To make a complete perler of all the Pokemon, out of beads...that was his hobby! But, he's too old now. He's counting on mininete to finish it. ^_^
