The Devil and the Maiden

‘Oh God, why did they drag me here? I didn’t want to b here. I don’t even know the person who’s hosting. And! I’m in a strangers house! Everyone around me is pretty much drunk. Of course I want a drink, but I only have one, and it’s going to stay that way.’

“Keseseseseseses”

‘What. The Hell. Was that? Was that someone’s laugh? That has to be the most annoying laugh ever!’

“I am awesome!”

‘More like just a regular drunk idiot.’

((Prussia’s POV))

Antonio had said something funny and of course I laughed at him. But… something else caught my attention…

There she was.. alone on the other side of the room, this had to have been the third drink offer she turned down from another guy…

I stood from my seat and headed towards her. I need to at least know her name…

“Amigo, where are you of to?” Antonio asked

“Zat Frau over zere alone, do you know her name?” I asked not taking my eyes off of her.

“She’s (Friend’s name) friend, I don’t know her name.. “ He said

I didn’t answer him back and made my way up to her. No girl can resist the awesome me…

“Vell hallo zere. Vould you like anozer drink?”

She looked up at me. She was smiling but I could tell she was irritated. “No thank you.” She said

“Vell how about you tell me your name ja? Here I’ll start. My name is Gilbert.” I gave her the signature crooked smile no woman could resist

“(Name). It’s nice to meet you Gilbert.”

((Your POV))

‘Just leave, please, oh but that smile…’ “(Name). It’s nice to meet you Gilbert.” I said trying to sound as dull as I could.

“Vhy don’t ve somevhere more private ja? Zis is mien house so ve could go up to mien room.” He smirked

“Back off buddy. I’m not like that.” You said a bit harshly, and it took him by surprise. “If you want to talk to me we can stay right out here with everyone else.”

He seemed to be in deep thought, and it was straining him.. “Fine.” He said with a wide smile. “All I vanted to do vas talk anyvay.”

“Right. Well. Go a head talk….”

For what seemed like forever you and Gilbert… talked…. About anything, about everything. Family, friends, hobbies, music, all topics were present. And you felt, light hearted, you liked talking with him, he was funny in a sense, and don’t forget very handsome… you found yourself lost in his red eyes… but… unknown to you… he had the same problem. Your (Color) eyes were so intense and just…got lost…

“Hey amigo?” Antonio whispered, the party was practically over.. just a few too drunk to move people behind by now. “What do you think he’s doing?”

Francis took his attention away from the girl at hand and looked over.. “Ohohoho is he getting lucky tonight?”

“No, I don’t think so… they’ve been talking… all night…” Antonio said shocking Francis.

“Just.. talking?” He asked

Antonio nodded “Just talking.”

“Does he know that many words?” Francis asked again now concerned

“Apparently so.” Antonio said and the two looked at each other, dumbfounded

“Und zen Ludvig handed ze grenade to his Italian friend but he zrew ze pin instead of the grenade!” Gilbert exclaimed with explosion sound effects and throwing his arms up in the air.

“That sounds very dangerous.” You giggled but it was more at his sound effects and flailing of the arms you were laughing at.

The laughter dyed down a bit and the two of you stayed silent for a moment. “I guess you should go home ja? It’s getting late…”

You nodded. “Yeah, I suppose I should…”

“How about I call you? Tomorrow?” He asked

“S-Sure…” You reached into your pocket and found an old receipt and scribbled your number down. “Here..”

“Keseseses zis is awesome.” He gave you a huge grin. “I vill defiantly call tomorrow!”

With a small wave you left his house, you had a content smile and a stomach full of butterflies. “Yeah, tomorrow.”

“Well Gilbert…” Gilbert turned to Francis and Antonio

“Ja vhat do you vant. I’m tired.”

“What did you two talk about?” Antonio asked

“Stuff, everyzing really.”

“And what are you planning on doing with her?” Francis asked

“Call her tomorrow.” Gilbert said with a small smile. “To set up a date.”

“Amigo, this is not like you! Any other time you would have had that girl begging for you in your bed. Now, your just talking and setting up dates. What gives?”

“She denied me. zerefore I must vork a bit harder to get her.”

“If you think it’s worth it, the go a head.” Francis said seeing through Gilbert’s little lie.

“Ja, it vill just prove zat no frau can deny me!” Gilbert said triumphantly “Now I’m going to bed!”

“You little Diablo, you!” Antonio chuckled

~The next morning~ Well more like afternoon~

“Well good morning sleepy head~” Your friend chuckled when you finally enter the living room “You were out pretty late last night, finally get some?”

“Oh be quiet. I didn’t do anything, me and this guy just talked all night.” You said slouching on the couch next to her.

“Oh? About what? Was he nice? Was he hot? Did you give him your number?”

“Yes to all and for about what, we talked about… everything really… he said he would call today../”

She scooted closer wanting more. “So tell me his name~”

“His name is Gilbert. He was the one hosting the party last night.”

Her giddy smile turned into a frown. “Gilbert? You mean the white haired, red eyed, German speaking Gilbert?”

You looked at her curiously. “Umm yeah… actually…”

“And you just… talked with him right?”

You nodded “Yes…just talked…”

“(Name) I’m sorry, but, Gilbert is a bit of a player, in fact he’s probably just trying to get in your pants…”

You looked away from her, very disappointed, because here you are yet again, with a guy who only wanted one thing. “A-Are you sure?” you asked lowly

“Yes. I’m sorry.” She said softly. She could tell you were upset.

“Well, when he calls of texts. I’ll… just tell him to leave me alone…”

The fact is, is that you never once had sex. Never did you say yes to a boyfriend or a random guy, you just… weren’t ready. So many boyfriends broke up with you over it. So many guys ignored you over it and never gave you a second glance. It wasn’t a religious think to ‘stay pure till marriage’ it was just… it frightened you a bit. And your first time was just something you dreaded. The pain everyone talked about, the blood, the uncomfortable feeling… and the fear of getting pregnant… it was all too much, any time you thought you might be ready… you backed out…

“(Name), your phone’s ringing…”

You picked it up, it was a number you didn’t recognize. Hesitantly you answered the call. “H-Hello…”

“Hallo! It’s me! Gilbert! How are you on zis awesome day!?”

“Listen up Gilbert! I don’t know what kind of girl you think I am! But I’m not falling for your crap! There is no way in hell you are going to get me to sleep with you! So I suggest you delete my number and never try to contact me again! I will NOT be another notch on your belt of girls. You will NOT get me in your bed no matter how hard you try. Goodbye Gilbert.” You hung up the phone before he could react.

“V-Vhat?” I asked myself. Did she really jus say that? I guess…. My reputation has caught up to me… “Zis is so unawesome..”

“So tell us Gilbert. How do you really feel about that girl?” Francis asked and Antonio nodded wanting to know as well.

“Vell… I…” I tried to say it… bit the words didn’t quite come out…
