So, I decided to take a crack at this year, because one of my goals for 2014 is to draw more. I finished TWO pieces this whole past year (this one and my Christmas card image), which disappoints me. I MISS drawing like crazy.

Anyway, on to the info portion of the entry:

Name of Senshi: Sailor Ithel (pronounce Ee-thel)

Civilian Name: Otsugeno Yogensha

Name Translation/Meaning: (Roughly) Prophet of the Divine Message

Realm of Influence: Holy Energy/Restoration

Attacks:

Divine Hymn - Physical healing "attack" which heals people within a 1 yard range. All healing is draining, but the more severe the wound, the more draining it is for Ithel. Curing a fatal wound will kill her.

Holy Blessing - Spiritual/Mental healing attack; Ithel can expel negative energies/feelings from team mates or enemies. The stronger the negative influence, the more difficult this is.

Righteous Defiance - A shield attack; Ithel creates a a roughly pyramidal shield directly in front of her which covers an area approx. 3 feet wider than her outstretched arms (the shield becomes smaller with each subsequent casting or if Ithel is already drained from healing). The shield will absorb and dissipate attacks; it can absorb up to 3 low level attacks (ie, "Fire Soul" or "Crescent Beam), 2 higher level attacks (ie "Mars Flame Sniper" or "Mercury Aqua Rhapsody"), or a single max level attack (ie "Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss"). The shield shatters when broken and causes feedback/injury to Ithel when this happens.

Ascension Kiss - Ithel's forbidden attack. She is unsure of what exactly this attack will do when used, but was told by her mentor that she would know, without a doubt, when the proper time to use it would be. She suspects that she will not survive using it.

Background: Ithel is the leader of a group of five senshi on her home world of Ithelsei. Her senshi are: Sailor Rethan, Sailor Unauth, Sailor Mern, and Sailor Eoad. Ithel and Rethan are the only known survivors of a terrible calamity on their home world; a plague of darkness descended from the heavens, blotting out the sun, and eventually infected all life on their wold, first causing madness and then killing everything. Ithel attempted to use her healing powers to save her world, bringing her to the brink of death; only Rethan’s desperate flight with her charge allowed them to escape, leaving Unauth, Mern, and Eaod behind to protect anything that was left until they could stand against it no more. Devastated, Ithel devoted herself to studying the calamity as it moved from world to world. She has determined that she has the power to stop it, but is unable to unlock the power to use it. Rethan hears of a rumor of a shining light in the rural portion of the galaxy and they travel to find this light, so see if she can unlock the power. After encountering the Sol Senshi, Ithel slowly comes to realize the calamity has followed them and will consume the Earth next, unless she can find the way to unlock the power she carries.
