Goldie is based on a Game Boy Color that is using the Mobile Game Boy adapter and Moburi is based a phone that the adapter would connect to. They are also based on some of the illustrations from the official Mobile System GB website.

Goldie is extroverted and childish, wanting to play games with others. Anytime she meets a new person she would ask for their phone number so she could talk to them again later. She is also very talkative often talking about her favorite games. She likes Pokemon and wears a hat based on a Pikachu at all times. She needs a cellphone to connect to the Mobile System GB so she has her assistant Moburi to take on the role of the connecting cellphone. Moburi may just be her co-worker but Goldie sees her as an actual friend, her closest friend in fact.

Moburi is based on a PDC cellphone that would be used with the Mobile Game Boy adapter (the blue adapter to be specific). She takes her job as an assistant to Goldie very seriously and is very organized. Despite being a cellphone used for communication, she is actually shy and lets Goldie do all the talking when interacting with others. Moburi deals with the more behind the scenes work like maintaining the connection. She tends to worry a lot and thinks about the worse case scenario.

Goldie's actual name is Yellow Tendo, Goldie is just a nickname. The pins on her hat are based on other online services Nintendo has had. They both actually have eyes, you just can't see them with the hats on.
