I decided to give them little "mutations" caused by the split. Green is strawberry blond, Red is ginger, Blue is light blonde, and Vio is albino. Also, they get more diverse body types.

Green has the Roc's Feather, Pegasus Boots, and Boomerang. Red has the Fire Rod, Ice Rod, and Slingshot. Blue has the Hammer, Lantern, and Bombs. Vio has the Bow, a Quake Medallion, and the Shovel.
