Description
This in Vidar. His parents was lost at sea during the great battle of Ragnarok and he misses them dearly. He is a mute and has a robotic left, back paw, can't see in this pic, but that does not stop him. He will, along with his brother VΓ‘li, keep rule over the field of Idavoll. This story is based on nordic mythology.The tiger was inked and colored in photoshop. The background is a photo I shot and minuplated in photoshop.

you did a good job in manipulatin the photo, since the contrast between the photgraph and the drawing itself is not digustingly high. reading your comment, it seems an interesting character. Is it based a bit on norse mythology, since you mention Ragnarok?

This is beautiful- i love the idea. The only critique i have, is that you can tell that the photo is, well, a photo. If you must use a photo as a backround, i suggest rendering it a bit more to make it look more like a drawing- otherwise- drawing the backround would be even better. keep it up! ^_^

Thanks! It took a lot of playing around with photoshop. And I had fun drawing the tiger by hand before I colored it in photoshop.

I like it. Although I usually hate photos as backgrounds this one turned out great, it looks better when full-viewed because the you can see that the photo has been altered a little. The tiger is nice, I like the stripes. All in all, a great pic.

I really like your way of adding a story to the pieces. For this one, I like how the tiger sits at a ledge. The background is nice and adds this sense of calmness and a bit of sadness in the overall tone of the piece. The tigers stripe variation is also interesting.
Hmm, maybe for next time, don't be afraid of adding some more life into the piece like some birds or a far away background like mountains or distant point to give the viewer a chance to wonder what he is remembering.
Overall, its cute and has a slight sad yet uplifting feel to the piece.
