Your efforts seem to have worked—the eggs have hatched, and the most interesting creatures have made their way into this world! These are Quill-Phoenixes; they are not a species within QuillDogs, but are creatures of lore that are known to accompany the animals in old legends. How lucky you are to have stumbled upon these 10 blue eggs! Legend says that these creatures have magical powers, and that they are revealed only to those who befriend them and retain their loyalty.

Each bird is quite unique; although the sex cannot be determined (up to you!), each individual has its own characteristics!

1. Rather elusive and flighty; its feathers cast a sparkling sheen. Prefers hazelnuts and walnuts.

2. Prefers the shadows of tangled jungle branches, often perches high. Collects gold and yellow items. Call is a hollow, haunting wail. Has an affinity for nectar from flowers.

3. Warm to the touch; just as warmhearted and gentle. Often fans its wings and stretches; quite enjoys mangoes and pineapples.

4. Nocturnal in nature, often eerily calls at things that are not there. It’s call seems almost chanting and archaic in nature. Prefers the sinew from carcasses.

5. Bright in feather and intelligence, this trickster is always up for a good joke or game. It loves all types of berries, and sings happily every single day. It is quite flashy with its rainbow hues.

6. Overwhelmingly nocturnal, this bird often studies the stars; it is said to collect the dust of stars beneath its wings. In blacklight, it glows a vibrant blue-purple.

7. Very peacock-like in appearance, this bird is flashy and turntail in its ways. It often finds itself instigating fights with other birds, and has been known to taunt!

8. Quiet and reserved, this bird sits perched often along the trunk of a tree, silently waiting for its next meal. It prefers snakes, and is the fastest of the birds in this set.

9. Full of confidence and pizzazz, this bird’s blue feathers often melt into the sky, as this bird loves to soar on warm thermals. Its call is like that of thunder; it echoes throughout the land.

10. This bird is warmhearted and tender; often aiding its siblings in finding food or figuring out flying. This bird prefers peaches and oranges, and often plants the seeds of the fruits consumed in an effort to give back to the natural world.
