As many around here I'm also a fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender.One of the things I have frequently wondered about this show is βwhat would the characters look if they were actual people instead of cartoonβ, so I decided to paint some of them as I imagine they would look like. This is my take on Mai.
This was all done on Photoshop. I painted everything, with the exception of the pattern texture of her clothes (you know, the little flowery drawings) and some of the background textures; those I got from [link] .

If I may offer some critique? I may not be the best artist but I think that Mai's lips may just be a tad to big- all considering her character.
That's just my opinion though

Iβm sorry for not replying here before, but most of the time I use a Mac and I canβt see parts of this site on that computer and Mai is one of those things I canβt see. Luckily, I occasionally have access to a PC and it all works better (but I still keep being logged out every couple of minutes, grrrr).

Yeah, I debated that with myself to, but there was one episode when Ty Lee mentioned May wearing depressing makeup so I figured she could be the kind of girl who might use dark shades on her eyes. Besides, the shades helped shaping the eyes to look more like the characterβsβ¦

Oooh, I remember seeing this on LJ somewhere. I LOVE this, it's just so beautiful. 
I could go on forever about how much I love this painting, so I'll get my two tiny, insignificant nitpicks out of the way: Her hair buns are a bit small, which makes them look kinda flat. And her eyes... I can't quite describe it, but something is off when you compare the two of them together. That's just me, though, and I probably only noticed because I spent so much time gazing at this picture.
