may i just say that i thought this was very amusing as when i was at school i went to the kitchens and grabbed the sharpest thing i could, which was a potato peeler as the knives got locked away. And i tried to kill myself with the potato peeler. so... wow, you just made a bad point in my life, very humerous!

Having often suffered various cuts and so forth, I can say with confidence that your potato is bleeding very realistically.
One suggestion: consider tweaking with the color balance to get the BG white...
