Samra Morgan was kind of Pshycologically(spelling?) ill.
Her parents were horse breeders.
The horses became very ill but seemed to recover after her mother commited suicide.
Her father, who didn't want a child, drowned her in a well because she was the one that made her mother kill herself.
It's confusing because in the movie her mother puts a sack over her head, suffocates her, and lets her fall down the well.
Poor eight-year-old Samara.
