Description
Prismacolor pencils, Faber Castell india ink brush tip pen, and white Cell Vinyl on Canson colored art paper.This is the final art for a commission. I really had fuin with it and finished it in one sitting. It's a variation on the classic Archie Comics THREE ON A SODA image of Archie, Betty and Veronica. The client asked that I have Shaggy from Scooby Doo take Archie's place and so I have.

Thank you very much. I think it has the boldness of the classic Archie ink style and the colored pencils add another dimesion to it.

Hmmm, I felt that it was very TRUE to the sketch....except for the color.
Well, it's all stuff I buy in American art supply stores. I don't care where it comes from, I just know it's all good quality art material. Obviously, art has been done for much longer in Europe than it has in the USA. So the best materials are not surprisingly European.

Canson is well known in Belgium, but we prefered to use "Steinbach" paper : a high quality paper, made by a german family in Belgium.
Unfortunately, You can't found it in USA, I think !

Yes, I've never heard of Steinbach, but I will do a websearch for it just in case. But Faber-Castell, as well as Canson is pretty common here in the States.

Ok I admit it I love this piece.
It's taken me a while to get over my anger that I didn't think of it. But I'm feeeling much better now.
I mean Betty, Veronica, and Shaggy. How perfect a match-up is that.

As for the other art, I wonder. I remember my wife looking over my shoulder and making a comment that it didn't look like Betty and Veronica were wearing much. My wry reply was "I'm not finished drawing them."
Ah....it's probably my disorganized filing system that is responsible for their disappearance. Maybe they'll resurface for some lucky mail phone service clerk who gets the check for the monthly service.

Hey, it wasn't really that dirty. Of course, none of my life drawings got pitched. In fact, I believe my wife giggled at some of my art from that class, so I've attributed the loss of art to the my poor maid service.
