in 1820 when Rowen (Jesse at the time) was 19, his mother Sarah was thought to be a witch and their house was burnt down with them in it. He then woke up as an angel and lived in heaven for a few hundred years until he was cast out due to being framed for murder. In hell he couldn't remember his name, meeting a demon he earned the name Valor. A few more thousand years later he was allowed into the human world he decided to go by Rowen. Finding work in the institute he made his way there.
