Broken Baobab - Hoedspruit, SA

In the area of Hoedspruit there are few Baobab trees and even fewer big ones. We went to a place where there used to be a huge one, but alas, it was struck by lightning and lies in ruins now. It's still alive though but in no way does it look as majestic as it used to. It did gave opportunity to shoot a few pictures of the broken wood as it left a huge hole where the trunk split open. Wood and splinters everywhere; sad but pretty.
For this shot, I used some heavy postprocessing to give it the high-contast look that goes nicely with the texture of the wood.
