Description
Takes place right after this: The Journey West [Riverfell's Return]After Riverfell ensured the final battlegrounds had been cleared of the injured, the dead, and any possible remaining Hive threat to the triumphant packs of the Domain, Shiloh gathered her packmates at dawn to share their next move. Standing strong upon a rocky outcrop in order to address them all, a small smile turned the corners of her lips as tired eyes surveyed all who had gathered. How grateful she was that she had not lost more of her family to the Hive and she would not add to the collection of faces destined to haunt her dreams. Finally, it was time to share some good news with them all after what felt like a lifetime of bad.“You all fought long and hard to save these lands. I couldn’t be more proud of each of you; your courage, fortitude, and dedication to protecting not only one another, but those of our newfound allies and partners in restoring order to this world. I thank you all for trusting me to lead you this far. The war is over. Let’s go home.”Although there was confidence and hope in the Lady of Riverfell’s voice, in her heart, she knew her own internal war was just beginning. For now, it was her duty and her focus and get them all home safely. The journey would last 5 days in an effort to allow the wounded to set the pace. When stopped to set up camp, Shiloh would often lead patrols into the surrounding terrain to search for not only prey but any surviving Hive wolves that may have fled and escaped their previous onslaught. No prisoners were taken. All threats were killed on sight – just as she’d promised the Queen. On the sixth day, their journey ended. Shiloh led her packmates through the familiar shadows of the Citadels that flanked them as they all took in the sounds and smells of home. And for some traveling among them now, it would be for the very first time. Her relief at finally setting foot upon Riverfell’s soil was short-lived, as little did she know, their home had been invaded a second time while they were away. The signs and scents of foreigners were everywhere and belonged to neither packmate nor Hive enemy. It did not take her long to discover that a small band of Loners had taken it upon themselves to move in while the packs (and other Loners that answered their call) of the Domain risked their lives to defeat the Hive. And now, these freeloaders would reap the benefits of a safer land thanks to their sacrifice? As Shiloh’s eyes fell upon a small female enjoying the comfort of their main densite, her fury was ignited at the audacity of these intruders. Hackles and tail high, she wasted no time in pursuing the female with bared teeth and a direct command to her packmates around her."Hunt down and remove these gutless freeloaders from the lands of Riverfell by any means necessary! Drive them out and remind them that our borders are never to be crossed again.”, The wolves of Riverfell are finally home after an arduous two seasons of being on the road! Eager to reclaim their home and begin to rebuild as soon as possible, Shiloh wastes no time in addressing the unwelcome visitors and ordering them to be driven out without question or hesitation. It becomes clear that there is little room in her heart for charity or any potential risk to her packmates; not after everything they had all been through and endured together.Interested in collaborating with the scattering Loners in question? Keep an eye on the #classifieds Discord channel for more details about getting involved! For everyone else -- it’s been a little over six months since your wolf has set paw upon their home soil, so I put together a general list of prompts (instead of task-specific) for you all to play with as your wolves begin to reacclimate to being home again after so long:How do they feel about being back home? Are they relieved/happy and adjusting well, or are they having trouble getting grounded and settling back in with their old routines? How did their experiences on the road change them, for better or worse?Did they learn anything about themselves (or others) since they first left Riverfell?Has their experience with the Hive changed how they perform or view their task? For new faces, what does your wolf think of their new home? Are they excited to have a place to settle down and call their own, or do they miss the open road? It’s a time of rest and reflection now that the worst is behind them all. That goes for not only the wolves of Riverfell but also the players! You all worked so hard to make the Hive Wars possible so take time to wrap up your plots and explore how everything that’s happened may have impacted your characters over time. And yes, we will absolutely celebrate Riverfell’s triumphs and losses by enjoying a well-earned Winter Quarter Feast next month, so stay tuned! Sorry Rose, you're on your own again!
She is sticking to the outskirts of Riverfell for a couple of days in hopes of giving a proper apology to the Riverfellians. If she isn't able to give it, she'll wind up leaving the area in favor of travelling elsewhere.
