Yes the watcher groups will help with faves and comments, but not to get higher on the front page if you have less faves than an other deviation in the same category. THis is just how it works here unfortunately.

I stand by the groups theory. More watchers/groups means more views, and more views means more faves.

Note that this picture is featured in 38 groups, so that's a LOT of views, and therefore, a lot of faves.

Check the faves of both deviations, I said that deviantart ranks the deviations by faves. This one has less faves as the other cat. Something is just not right here.
