Description
I whipped this up quick tonight for Valentines day, particularly for the contest at that closes tomorow (or is it today now?). I wouldnt have left it so late, but i only just changed my mind tonight. So yeah, im experimenting more with the traditional/digital combination. 83 I think its better than leaving it white. I'll just have to practise.
Photoshop class is working by the way, im learning stuff.

Originally I was gonna write just a comment on this, but decided to utilize the critique feature of my premium membership:
LINES: As ~Manicethehedgehog08 pointed out, Sonic's left arm looks considerably wider than his right. Aside from that, however, I don't see anything glaringly wrong with the lines. I see a mix of rounded and sharp corners on the tips of their quills, Sonic's glove, etc, but I think that just reminds the viewer of their two different personalities.
COLOR: Sonic and Amy appear to have been colored with colored pencils (or some digital equivalent of that), which imparts a unique texture to the drawing that I like. The shading/highlighting puts focus on both the two hedgehogs and the point in the background where both are looking. And the soft purples of the background symbolize how smoothly that the blue and pink hedgehogs have come together.
MISC: We don't see their faces and only see Amy snuggled up next to Sonic with his arm around her. This suggests, to me at least, a dual perspective: the feelings they have for one another are simultaneously as simple as their actions suggest, and too complex to describe with words or facial expressions.
Overall, this is quite a touching picture, and a surefire favorite for Sonamy fans everywhere. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

Oh wow thank you for such a great critique! It reminds me i have to practise more with coloured pencils again, and try mixing it with digital again. Sorry this is so late.

This is a beautiful piece of art. I love how it looks like their looking to the future. I might be a ShadAmy fan but this actually makes me re-think my standing thus far. The shading is excellent and the choice of coloring for the background is beautiful. Although I am a little confused as to whether Sonic is leaning on a blanket or a rock. The border is subtle but noticeable enough to were you make it look like it was a photo taken for a card. Or some mushy thing like that XD
All in all very good! Keep it up!

Thanks for the critique. 83
i really dont know why people are struggling to understand what sonic's leaning on is a bean bag. A rock isnt that curvy. o.o

very nice, the mood is perfect for valentines day e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

i love the pose to it all. again really helps set the mood.the colors are lush and lively.
and all the purple, red and pink really gives it a love feeling x3
a few small things i see though
again u make me really have to work to find problems cause usually they are so minor that i have to get rly picky to find problems so u can get better e.deviantart.net/emoticons/l/l⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="
" title="Laughing -
"/>
but one that i see is sonic's left arm is a bit thicker then his right one.
another thing, now, idk if im right here cause i could totally be wrong is amy's quills, i thought they covered her neck, but im not 100% sure on that so e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="19" height="19" alt="
" title="Shrug -
"/> hit me if im wrong xD
overall i give it a 8.9/10
i set the technique a little lower because i feel its not your best work and it didnt look like the hardest picture you did. (correct me if im wrong lol)

Thank you for trying so hard to find the bad things! X3 And i dont mean that as sarcasm I need to see what i did wrong so i can improve for next time. 83 (and cause i cant see the errors at first).
Ohh your quite right there, it is imbalanced. Didnt notice that.
Well concidering amy dosent have a neck You might be right, they have gotten a bit longer over the years, but eh. X3
Thats cause it was a rush job XD I would like to have made the background a bit better, but i wanted it done in time for the contest. 83 So your right, its not one of my best.

well the arms are just something to improve in the next piece which im sure will be fantastic :3
ive seen one picture where amy did have a neck in sonic X. but it was when she was screaming so i was there for a joke. idk its hard to explain. but yeah sonic style dosnt have a neck so who knows xD
it seemed a bit rushed. but for a rush job its really good, my rush jobs all have major errors xD
glad i helped out ^^

They swear a lot in that show. o.o Eggman has a potty mouth. I think swearing is acceptable in a kids show in japan.
