last week, the power went out at my house due to a windstorm... it was out for 6 hours.. i was so unbelievably bored. so, i took pics of some of the candles that were keeping me company.
reminds me of an inspirational poster
"rekindle the flame of lost friendships" or something.....

haha, funny, my power also went out recently(prolly the same storm since I'm also in the seattle area), and I took some photos of my candles, glass sculptures, and pretty much anything that would refract the light from the candles.
looks like the dreaded grain got ya on this pic better luck next time, those low light shots can be tricky, lower iso sometimes helps the grain go away, just gotta wait a little longer for the shutter...

I'd be afraid to damage the lens by getting so close to the flame, but that's just me and my healthy " not-a-lot-of-money" paranoia

A very cool macro. Reminds me of early October when Hurricane Juan ripped through Halifax - we lost power for more than a week and everynight was spent huddling together with candles and the BBQ. It was boring at first but when the power came back on we were actually dissapointed - it had been so much fun!

I like the shot and the sentiment a lot. The candle looks like a rose, which makes it even more interesting. Maybe the flame is a little too strong, but great work, nonetheless.
