Description CLICK FOR ANIMATION TEST

Only 9 frames... that is how long an animated GIF file can take. If anybody can find a good FREE website that changes WindowMovie Maker videos into SWF files with good quality, please tell me! (I would've made it longer, sorry but the GIFs can't hold much...)

Sorry I haven't uploaded in a few days... this security system keeps on getting our computer every 20 minutes after I get rid of it. Plus it won't let me do photoshop once it comes up.

This is just a test of Bluestar standing and a view around her.

Updated version with color and cell shading! Those are shadows, not highlights just to day since it's nighttime. With bg on some frames too.

Just a little advice, I'm hoping this would be a first time at animation?

1. The view that you have atm is great, but it could be better with seeing full rotation all the way around ... I know it may seem impossible atm, but if you practice and put enough patience into it, you'll get!

That also brings me to the point of it just stopping in the middle cycle and going back to the beginning ... it feels like it doesn't flow with it just stopping right there dead on.

Finally brings No.2

2. What program did you use to make the animation in? If it's Photoshop that's pretty impressive! 8D I know that my Adobe Flash CS4 has the tool to make the rotating objects, in fact I'm using it to make a 3D rotating replica of one of my fan characters. Anyways, back to the subject, having that full rotation in mind, it would be wise to think about the speed that the object rotates ... I sure that once you master the techniques behind it, people will like to see it better rotating slower ... not totally slow like grandma's pace or anything, but slow enough that it creates a steady smooth motion through the rotation to it's easier for the artist's to study the character better.

Keep these things in mind, and you'll have great animation rotations! ^_^ Hope this helps ^^

It's my first rotation, but I'm still pretty new to animating.

When I put it into the video I'm making, it only goes to that view. I would do a full rotation, but I don't need it in the video...

I used Photoshop Elements. I'll slow it down, maybe to a 2 seconds frame? Or 1.5?

Thanks! I see what your getting at in both 1 and 2 and I'll fix them ^^

It's not bad for a first shot

Try both and see what happens ... it should be slow enough that it's a smooth transition as I said before ... and if it doesn't appeal to you, try putting in speeds between the two numbers, that ususaly helps even things out

It's no problem, hope I helped you out! ^_^

I just adjusted the speed with the color to .125 for the speed. Does it look smoother?

Yeah, it looks good
If you wanted it full rotation it would be advisable to slow it down just a little bit, but for now it's good
