Here is a short story I wrote if anyone is interested. It just popped in my head the moment I saw this image.
"Why hello there." A calm deep feminine voice echoed.
"What?" A young woman named Erica looked around as she realized that her entire surroundings became completely engulfed by a sapphire blue and white light. It constantly shifted shapes and formed various kinds of swirls. A place that looked so over the top, there was no way this could make sense.
She yawned and fanned her mouth. It wasn't because she was unimpressed but for a different reason.
"What is this? Doctor Who or lemme guess. The Twilight Zone?" Erica nervously chuckled.
The colors stopped swirling in annoyance. "... Sorry, please continue."
"Well there goes my big ominous voice over for you to question the world you're in now." The voice continued to echo.
Well, what Erica did next as that she looked down at her feet to see that there was nothing there to suggest that she could be standing on some form of platform. She looked back up to see that the colors had a more neon look to them now.
"Is there something you want to talk about? You deep... sapphire... um, void?" Erica rubbed her forehead. "I'm sorry but is there a name that you go by? It feels kinda weird to have a conversation with something I can't see."
"I exist by many names. But you can call me your Sleep Conscious." The sapphire and white contined to swirl around her. In some areas of her surroundings. It felt as if there was a light source as some areas appeared to have this shiny glow to it.
"I think I'll be fine." The moment Erica said that. The sapphire and white colors expanded with such force, it felt like her feet shook in some form of vibration!
"What is this!?"
"I am a warning!!! Heed it if you wish."
"How can this be a choice? I don't even see doorway that I could use to ignore you... um Sleeping Conscious.
The colors paused for a moment as the Sleeping Conscious voice groaned in extreme annoyance. "What in the name of me should I listen to- you know what. HERE!"
Erica turned around to see that there was a tall wooden door. "So what is the point of all of this."
"You know what? I don't even care anymore." The colors stopped twirling. "I always get the moody kids that wont even give me the curiosity to listen to what I have to say. It's not like my Emerald and White Husband can think of me as being helpful around the dark void anymore..."
Erica placed her hand on the door knob. She sighed then looked over her shoulder.
"What is this lesson supposed to be?"
"You're just asking me to just have me feel better." The voice echoed.
"No no. I'm interested."
"You mean it???"
"Yeah... I do."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes..."
"Okay. *Ahem. YOU HAVE NOT BEEN SO WELL LATELY MS. ERICA WALTERSON!!! IT IS I, YOUR MIND BEING VISITED BY AN OUTSIDE SOURCE. YOU HAVE NOT BEEN SLEEPING ENOUGH IN RECENT WEEKS."
"Wait, wait, wait. The whole reason of why I'm in this sapphire and white void, is because I don't get enough sleep than I'm supposed to?"
The colors stop swirling. "Um... well yeah."
"I can do that. I can do it in my sleep." Erica winked at her own pun.
"Well you'll have plenty of time if you don't wake up in the next fifteen seconds."
"Say what?" Erica stood tall.
"You just feel asleep while driving and there's a semi-truck on a collision course with your car.
"WHAT!!!" Erica erupted from her seat and as white blinding light engulfed her view as she drifted off to her left as she got back on the side she was supposed to be on. She immediately stopped and took a deep breath.
"You know. I would have woken you up with a minute ahead of time if you didn't keep interrupting me." The sapphire blue and white blend appeared on Erica's rear view mirror.
"You made your point... I'll head to a motel or something."
"Good. Now, does a pizza from this dimension sound like a good dinner choice for color voids?" THe voice asked.
"Not really. I recommend a place called Dion's in New Mexico. The best Pizza in the US Mid-West." Erica laughed.
"I'll keep that in mind." The voice echoed away from Erica's car.
Erica just rubbed her forehead... "I really need to get some sleep."

It's beautiful in that hard-to-grasp way that a lot of abstract works are. It reminds me of melting metal.
