In our opinion, Elmo Saves Christmas is a much better Christmas special than Barney's Night Before Christmas. The reason for this is that Sesame Street has always been a beloved children's show with a long history of entertaining and educating kids. On the other hand, Barney and Friends, while also a PBS Kids show, has never quite reached the same level of popularity or cultural significance. Additionally, Elmo Saves Christmas has a more engaging storyline and memorable songs that have become holiday classics. Overall, we believe that Elmo Saves Christmas is the superior choice for a Christmas special.
