Kithood [0 - 6 Moons]
Bigkit was born to Shadowclan Warriors Salmontail and Cypressbird, along with his brothers Elk-kit and Mountainkit. Raising kits was more work than Salmontail had originally thought, the kits were needy and their mews were high pitched and bothered his ears, it only got harder as the kits got bigger. Mountainkit was strong both physically and emotionally, when it was time to eat he'd step on the other kit's heads to get to his food. If he was hungry he'd hit Cypressbird in her stomach with all he had and cry until he got what he wanted. Bigkit had a lot of trouble learning to walk, many times he'd scooch around on his stomach or someone would have to carry him. The Medicine Cat found that there was nothing wrong with him, and suggested that he was just doing it for fun. Elk-kit was skinnier than his brothers and very clingy, always under his parent's paws and making it hard to move around.

Salmontail was growing overwhelmed with the duties having kits brought, and he tried avoiding his family by going on more patrols than normal. The stress from the kits, and Salmontail rarely being around, led to fights between the mates. During these fights, Bigkit would try to get away from the loud noises, where he would be scooped up by another queen, Raccoonsneak. Her kit, Rubblekit, took Bigkit to play and offered some escape from fighting parents. Salmontail and Cypressbird were tired of maintaining their relationship while taking care of three very needy kits, and ended their mateship.

Cypressbird, now being a single mother, was given a lot more help by other Queens and classmates with taking care of her kits. Bigkit and Mountainkit were happy to see their mom happy and less stressed, but Elk-kit was overwhelmed by all the sudden change and tried hiding from all the new helping cats.

Apprenticeship [6 - 12 Moons]
Bigkit was more than ready to become an Apprentice as he was renamed into Bigpaw, along with his brothers now Elkpaw and Mountainpaw, and even now Rubblepaw, he was given Snakestrike as his mentor. Snakestrike was a very animated tom, although he was also a very quiet one at that; he was known for his striking attack which made him both an excellent hunter and fighter. His strike was able to put a fighting foe at a disadvantage by inflicting a deep wound on a vital muscle, such as a shoulder, making it too painful for them to strikeback; as long as he was able catch them off guard, that is. The clan knew that Bigpaw was given a fantastic mentor.

Bigpaw was still a bit shy when it came to talking to new cats, but Rubblepaw wasn't. Rubblepaw was immediately friendly with the Apprentices that were in the Apprentice's den, and before the end of the first day Rubblepaw and Bigpaw were friends with Gorsepaw and Foxpaw. Bigpaw and Gorsepaw grew especially close over the moons and became Best Friends.

Training with Snakestrike was interesting, even with the tom using the least amount of verbal communication as he could, he was still able to get cats to understand what he was teaching. Bigpaw wasn't as sneaky as Snakestrike, the tom had large and loud paws, so it was most likely that he wouldn't be able to take up his mentor's strategy and strike first; Bigpaw had to rely on taking hits well and raw power. Even without the use of claws, Snakestrike still did well in his attacks, making Bigpaw have to learn to take them well. Bigpaw did struggle a lot with hunting, his large paws made it hard to be quiet and his large stature made sneaking equally as difficult, the one thing he had going for him was his brown pelt that helped him blend in a bit.

With her kits off and learning to become Warriors for the clan, Cypressbird found Shrewstep, a small, patient Shadowclan tom. The two grew close and he opened his arms to Cypressbird's sons. Despite not being blood related, Bigpaw and Mountainpaw got along with Shrewstep much better than they ever did with Salmontail, who was absent from the family. Elkpaw turned his nose up to the tom, Cypressbird urged Shrewstep not to push her son, knowing that the young tom still needed to sort out his feelings about everything that has happened with the family.

Warriorhood [12+ Moons]
The day of Bigpaw's Warrior ceremony wasn't as spectacular as the Elders made it seem; they made it sound like Starclan would come down from Starclan and bless him with superpowers or something. He was named Bigrock for his large presence and his strength, Mountainquake was named for his heavy weight and "quake" inducing jumps, and Elkspring was named for his speedy and graceful leaps. Guarding camp after their ceremony was like having it with a stranger, Elkspring was distant and acted nothing like a brother would act with his kin; it left Bigrock discouraged. Attempts to get closer with Elkspring afterwards ended up being fruitless; Cypressbird comforted him and told him to leave his brother be until he was ready to come to him.

Now with his training completed and owning the title of Warrior, Bigrock wasn't as shy as he was as he was when he was younger. During the times he was on patrols without his friends, he made friends with fellow Warriors: Cherryshine, Orchidflame, and Senior Warrior Blueleg. Rubblebelly and Gorsesneeze were very happy to see Bigrock making his own friends and welcomed them in their friend group, Cherryshine was especially happy, the she-cat was lonelier than Bigrock thought.

After being together for moons, Cypressbird and Shrewstep officially declared themselves as mates, and a season later they were expecting. Unlike Salmontail, Shrewstep was very relaxed with names and let her name the kits. The day of her kitting, they found she had been carrying a single she-kit; Cypressbird thought it would be cute to name her Littlekit to match Bigrock.

Bigrock hadn't been in the Nursery since he was a kit himself, with Shrewstep and Littlekit there it was happier than he remembered, the smells and sounds filled his senses with a happy feeling. As with the curse Cypressbird carried, Littlekit was very energetic, mischievous, and smart. Thankfully she had more help this time, with Shrewstep, Bigrock, and Mountainquake there to help Littlekit get her energy out.

Bigrock loved his little sister, and Littlekit loved how big and soft her brother was, often using him to hide from others during Hide-N-Seek. She was just so small compared to him and could run around the territory twice if someone allowed her to. Bigrock thought her sneezes were the cutest thing ever, she didn't mind everyone thinking she was tiny and cute, she liked the attention. It felt like too soon before Littlekit became an Apprentice and was renamed Littlepaw, although to Bigrock's surprise, she would still come to him after completing her Apprentice duties, her friends in tow to ask if Bigrock and Mountainquake could play with them. Some cats might have thought it was odd, fully grown Warriors playing with Apprentices, but Bigrock enjoyed it. Things couldn't get any better.
