Description Despite appearances, this isn't a spaceship or vehicle of some kind; it's an arm cannon built for use as a peripheral for the Nintendo Wii. The top comes off to slide the arm in, and the remote is placed sideways to keep it centred and to replicate the position of Samus Aran's hand in the Metroid Prime trilogy. All but two buttons are accessible with the right hand, with the exception of the 1 and 2 buttons. These are controlled with two external buttons on the bottom left side. Similarly, in order to press the +, -, and Home buttons, you must lower the gun to slide the remote forward a bit, giving access to these functions. The front sensor is exposed so the pointer works properly, and there is a slot for the Nunchuk to easily attach to the remote.

While this sounds perfect, I didn't account for one thing... the weight. The whole thing weighed in at about 4 pounds, which sounds like nothing until you try holding it up with your arm straight for twenty minutes. Even with the other hand for support, it's still too heavy for extended plays. However, that was the only problem, really. It takes some getting used to, but I used it with Metroid Prime 3 and Nintendo Land with pleasing results. Unfortunately, it's simply too heavy.

The cannon has since been disassembled, but even though it didn't work out like I had hoped, it was still a lot of fun to build, and I don't regret a second of it.
