Description
The end result of a solid day of building, this four-legged plasma turret not only is one of the tallest things I've built, but it also fills my need for a desktop lamp. The bulb is LED, generates no heat whatsoever, and uses virtually no power. The cord runs down the centre and is almost completely invisible (with the obvious exception of where it hangs out the bottom), and the top half can be moved up and down. At one point it could swivel around, but bulking it up eventually removed that function. I also built an airbag-like bit below the bulb that is loosely held to cushion the landing in the unlikely event that it tips over, thus preventing the bulb from shattering.
