Early in the morning, Lightpaw strutted into camp eyes closed, no mentor or warrior in sight at the entrance. He held a decent sized fish in his mouth, he proudly walked to the fresh kill pile."LIGHTPAW!" a white tom with grey markings scrambled out of the apprentice's den. Lightpaw's eyes still closed then his eyes opened, "GAH!" the tom ran straight into him. "Badgerpaw! What were you doing?" he asked the tom with a snap in his voice.
"Sorry," Badgerpaw looked down, ashamed. "Well, what are ya doin'?"
"Oh, just back from a hunting tr-"
"WOAH DID YOU CATCH THAT?" the tom looked stunned at the fish.
"No, I found it on the side of the riverbank, just killed by a talking bird- OF COURSE I CAUGHT IT!" he snapped. He covered his mouth with his paws instantaneously afterward, "Sorry, did I talk too loud?" Badgerpaw's shoulders clenched. The small white tom nodded with a worried expression. It was a pretty big milestone for him to have caught that big of a fish, due to him only becoming an apprentice a couple of sunrises ago. They got back up and Lightpaw continued to pad over to the fresh-kill pile. He dropped it on the other rabbits and fish that got caught that day and the previous. He happily padded over to the apprentice's den, where the older apprentice originally scrambled out of. Before entering, he saw Moonsayer and gave her a quick nod, she nodded back and he continued to pad into the warrior's den. He saw Jaypaw snoozing in his clump of moss, due to it being early in the morning, a lot of the cats were sound asleep. Badgerpaw went up and nudged Jaypaw's side.
"Time to wake up bud," Badgerpaw nudged at Jaypaw's side. Lightpaw saw the tom-cat open his eyes a bit, and then he shook his head and got up, "Did I sleep in that much?" he said with heavy eyes.

Later that day, when every apprentice was back from either training or a patrol, they sat down on their nests and Lightpaw began to rile up chatter,
"I just saw the fish, and then BAM! I jumped right on it! It tried to get away but it couldn't!" he proudly bit down on the fish he caught.
"It's not THAT impressive," Icepaw scolded, "It's not that hard to catch a fish, I've seen warriors drop in fish a ton of times a day!"
"Let him believe what he wants Icepaw," Ravenpaw told the white tom gently, "Besides, the fish he caught was pretty bi-" Ravenpaw was cut off by a light grey tabby she-cat warrior ramming into the apprentice's den, "LIGHTPAW!" she shouted.
"Yes, Snowfall?" Lightpaw replied softly,
"WHERE'S THAT FISH YOU CAUGHT?" she shouted again. Lightpaw froze, mid-bite of his fish, he was eating it, "YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO GIVE THAT TO THE ELDERS YOU MOUSEBRAIN!" she snapped, Lightpaw stood up,
"Maybe it's still in the fresh-kill pi-"
"I already checked there!" she snapped again.
"Check again, maybe you didn't look hard enough," he told the she-cat before his mentor stepped outside. Just as Snowfall stepped outside he jammed the fish in his mouth,
"Dude? Why didn't you tell the truth?" Cinderpaw whispered to Lightpaw as his mentor stepped outside.
"Because lying is easier than telling the truth and getting in trouble, hun," he laughed.
"DON'T CALL ME HUN!" Cinderpaw snapped angrily.
"Okay, hun,"
"YOU LITTLE!" the grey tom leaped and began to slash playfully when Lightpaw's mentor was entering the den again,
"Couldn't find anything," she looked down at her apprentice with a menacing glance, out of the corner of his eye, he saw Gorsetounge, walking into the elder's den with a fish.
"Hey look! Gorsetounge is carrying a fish and it looks like... the one I caught! See?" he said with a joyful expression, Gorsetounge had saved his fur from the sharp teeth of his menacing mentor.
"Okay, but I'll keep an eye on you and the next time you slip up, I'll have your tail on the wall of my den!" the light grey she-cat said while stepping out. He sighed and looked over to his friend Badgerpaw,
"Wow, she nearly clawed your fur out!" the grey and white tom exclaimed quietly.
"I'm lucky I have every strand of fur I had before," he said with a sigh of relief.

They continued to talk about their day to one and other, Ravenpaw had been hunting training, Pinepaw and Icepaw had gone on a patrol on the border of LakeClan to LeafClan, Cinderpaw had been chasing rabbits, Snowpaw and Frozenpaw had been on the sunhigh patrol and the other had been relaxing at camp and doing duties for the elders. Lightpaw yawned and looked over at Ravenpaw, who also looked tired.
"Well, I'm going to doze off," Lightpaw announced over the other apprentice chatter.
"Yeah, me too," Ravenpaw yawned as they padded over to their clumps of moss, Lightpaw's was slightly wet but that wasn't an issue, as long as he could just doze off into his dreams and run away from his cruel mentor, that was fine by him.
