Concept art for one of the main characters of an epic (<--not using that word for slang!) novel / feature film idea I had.
It revolves around the relations between kingdoms of humans and alchemists. When signs appear of the world's natural demise, the humans turn to the alchemists as scapegoats. These unleashed beasts and disasters are ways God is punishing the sinners. When tensions finally boil, the humans begin purging the smaller alchemist communities in their kingdoms, in hopes that they are purging the sinners.

Mena, the heir of the more mysterious alchemist kingdom is taken hostage by the most powerful human kingdom, and used to perform certain tasks for them. She is lastly tricked into reviving a legion from the dead, permanently scarred by the magnitude of her sin.

I am starting to CG this in Photoshop. More details, like engravings on her belt and gloves should follow, depicting a blend of alchemical signs and Celtic symbols.
