I still don’t have much art desire but it isn’t zero. I am trying to get my groove back by trying ‘little things’ and simple stuff. This time I decided to study ‘eyes’ to see what style really captures my heart. Really it is more exploring and discerning what truly is my style. If I can see what type of eyes I love to draw, lips, etc etc. then I can likely put all those pieces together better since I don’t have to wallow around each time I doodle to see what falls off the mark maker. (Not that I wouldn’t or shouldn’t do that- you have to let your mind play and perhaps enjoy some happy accidents too!)

You can see that as I let my mind ‘warm up’ the drawings got bigger and I even decided to do some faces. I don’t like to play favorites (Chenelle or Lily anyone?) but I like the one on the right a lot. It turned out well and I love that 20’s style.

You can also see that ‘anime’ eyes and I aren’t friends. I was actually trying more for the ‘parenthesis’ style of making the iris but none of it was working out for me. Which is ok. I like anime style enough and enjoy seeing it but is not at all a style I aspire to. These [anime] eyes in fact are the final nail in my “not to do” list of eye style as it follows another practice/study where I did a similar try/fail/repeat and it is hideous (which I may post later). But it did also teach me some and it *might* be useful to me in ‘blank look’ situations I might need to draw. Or something…

I’m sure this page might get posted again when I fill up the bottom half. Hopefully it will be as interesting.
