I try to do a quick sketchy outline and giving myself a deadline, I work in the details in layers, not trying to be perfect until the last layer. Keep your eyes on the negative space in your artwork they will help you with the proportion when you are sketching. I drew a lot growing up, I would practice for hours until it became easy.

Not only is the art work itself is breathtaking, but its a brilliant idea. Everything is so smooth, and the colors are viborant.
But I bet this painting looks better in real life, because I know scanners kills the colors, or something.
