Description
Susan’s tears were violent. Her hands trembled and lungs heaved tiredly as she sat hunched over the toilet. She sobbed, once, twice, almost three times and then vomited again. Less of it got in her hair this time, yet she barely noticed.Perhaps this could have been avoided, a small voice whispered nastily in her mind. This made Susan’s thin and elegant fingers grip the pearly bowl angrily. She glared into the murky water and clumsily fumbled to flush. She watched the water twist into a whirlpool and funnel its way into the sewers of underground Seattle.
One deep breath later, she was leaning back against the pale pink wall of her bathroom. With effort, she was soon able to stand. The world dipped and spun dangerously, causing her to grip the sink. The floor was not a favored place to be.
She shut her eyes and wished for it all to stop. She counted to ten, and then slowly looked up to the mirror. Her reflection made her burst into exasperated tears yet again. Disappointment seemed to flood through her veins and poison her heart. She felt a sense of loss and could barely bring herself to breathe. She simply didn’t have the will anymore.

You could definitely work with this, but make the descriptions more informal. Sounds like a fuckin' National Geographic piece.
