Description
Hello. My name is Momoko. I use the internet just like you. Many of us rely on the internet in several ways. Different things almost all of us do on the internet include viewing videos, shopping, blogging and communicating with people across the world. We are able to do this freely thanks to something called Net Neutrality. Net Neutrality is important to us, because it allows us to visit sites equally without slowed connections by our internet service providers. If this is taken away, our ISP (internet service providers) will have control over what sites we are able to visit, how fast the connection to said site is, and if we have to pay money to view the site.
This is being threatened to be taken away by the FCC. If this is taken away, the internet as we know it will be gone. Just as an example, imagine you come on DeviantART, and what you see is a message saying:
Your Internet Service Provider has blocked this website.Or going on Youtube, and getting a message that says:
You need to upgrade your plan to view this website. In short, Net Neutrality is very important. Many large websites and companies like Twitter, Amazon, Imgur, Patreon, Soundcloud, reddit, Tumblr, Netflix, Mozilla (creators of Firefox), and even Deviantart are against the removal of Net Neutrality. The list of other companies and websites goes on.
How can you help?
