Description
Xiphactinus was a giant predatory fish that lived throughout the Late Cretaceous period, mainly found in the United States of America although some fossils were found in Canada, Europe and Australia. This predatory creature, which could measure up to 6 meters in lenght, fed on whatever they could find, even attacking small mosasaurs.
The funny thing is, the Xiphactinus bit off more than it could chew, as some fossils are found with a whole fish 4 meters smaller, and if the Xiphactinus didn't choke, the struggling of the prey might have ruptured organs, which doesn't sound good at all.
Xiphactinus, alias the bulldog fish, eventually went extinct 66 million years ago alongside the species it lived with at the time.
