Description
Somehow, I decided to call this element, mineral, as in the classic 20 Questions game. This is because Earth, or Rock, or Ground or whatever seems to be referring to that particular type of substance or object. Asteroids are minerals. Lava, toxic as it is, is considered mineral. Metal is mineral. The list goes on.Anyways, the closest sort of Super Mario reference I could think of that relates to Tux's Earth powerup is the Super Mario Strikers armor. Tux's powerup, I guess, is a defense mechanism which gives temporary invulnerability to any attacks by the press of a button, which is the reason for Diddy Kong's Strikers armor.
As for the Pokemon, while Rock and Ground types are obvious, may I remind you that Toph in both Last Airbender and Korra actually bended poison at one point in each series, just like she invented Metalbending.
