Description
Conveying emotion can be done a lot more effectively when incorporating body language along with facial features. I have done some examples above. You can use many different poses to convey the same emotion. Hunched shoulders can enhance both emotions of shock or anger, while hands on hips can protray annoyance or satisfaction. It all depends on how you combine the twoI will make a more detailed tip sheet when I have a bit more time but have fun and try some expressionistic poses.
The one called 'bold' should actually be 'flirty' >.>

The lower left is just asking for a rape by the way. No woman shows boob and ass and really expects anything else.
The emotions are a bit over exaggerated, which isn't bad depending on the scenario they're in. If it's something mad, action-y or comedy - they're perfect. For something deeper, where real emotion is required, more subtle language would be required.
It's not a bad study, though... the reason why I criticize it is because it is study/sketches, so I'm trying to contribute or something.

Not saying you can't joke about the subject, but that you shouldn't joke about it. Can't you at least try and act like a decent human being?

It's a PICTURE. A SKETCH, that has no personality. I can say ANYTHING about it, because it is not real. LOOK at her! Why do you think women in real life only stand like that in their bathrooms? Because they know social code, and know this pose means the want some manly man or some pretty woman with them. In bed. Instantly. This is what the pose means.
Also, decent being? Do you know that, rarely but true, there ARE women who like being raped? Like, they want the guy to have sex with them, but they don't let him so he gets frustrated and rapes them and they get mad turn on? Do you know that there ARE weird girls like this?
There is nothing that I shouldn't joke about. If you feel yucky or offended, you get to stay quiet and move on or get this response that you're getting. This is the internet, you have complete freedom to pick what to respond to, what to ignore, what to insult and all that.
I hope you realize that joking about a sketch of a woman with huge boobs and nice ass in a rape-y position is absolutely okay. Do you even read manga? People get raped there all the time. It's okay. Who ARE you to tell me what I should or shouldn't joke about, especially when no real people are involved? Can you draw clear line between what exists in real life and what is just someone's imagination?
@*moni158 I'm sorry this has to go on under your deviation, lady. I like your work and all respect to you, but randoms don't ever get to tell me that being politically correct is being decent human being.

Not related to the freedom of speech argument you two are into, but
Do you know that, rarely but true, there ARE women who like being raped? Like, they want the guy to have sex with them, but they don't let him so he gets frustrated and rapes them and they get mad turn on?
That's not rape- I'd call it aggressive roleplay, since both parties are willing to have sex from the beginning, the girl in the example simply enjoys the guy's sexual assertiveness and wants to provoke it. If it was rape, the girl wouldn't be willing to have sex even if later during the intercourse she feels physical pleasure, not going into the complex psychological trauma stuff that follows.
I believe you used the word "rapey" incorrectly in this one, it's not by any means a good synonym for "signaling sexual availability", or maybe you meant "mistakingly being thought of signaling sexual availability which lead to unfortunate consequences"
Anyway, most of these poses are so vague that removing their mood bubbles and labels leaves them open to very wide interpretation- the annoyed and bold/flirty ones are actually almost identical. I'd name the "shocked" one "Stop right there, criminal scum!"

Could you both cool it with your shit posting? Yes, the internet is a "free" place where everyone can have crappy opinions and voice them, but that doesn't mean people want to hear about that crap. Do everyone a favor and stop mucking up this artist's comment space.
moni158, your practice sketches are awesome. The emotions you were trying to go for all shine there. I think the "something" pose kind of looks like curiosity. As if the person briefly glimpsed something while she is walking and she's now looking back to try and spot whatever it was.

What is the reason for YOU to butt in? What is your importance to tell us to chill out? You're not my mother to tell me this. Why don't you let me resolve that conflict with that other person like a grown up? Why can't I have an argument with someone just because somebody else doesn't have to SEE it? If it's so unimportant to you, then move on, don't tell me you don't have to see it. I don't want to see what you have to say, does that mean you shouldn't post it? Of course not.
I know what you are, you're "reasonable guy on the internet". Go screw. If you think you can tell me that I have to care about what you want to see, then you're on the wrong site... because you know, caring about people's feelings and art don't often go well hand in hand.
I find your post offensive. You used the SHIT word in it and this hurt my sensitive feelings.

I was talking about the body language, not about the drawing style. this is clearly the body language we can see in a manga, not in real life.

I think the bold is lacking in the position of the knees. It's difficult to feel or be bold unless your feet are planted hip or shoulder-width apart. The legs in that image look more shifty and shy than the legs in your shy pose.

I love your poses and it certainly displays emotion. The only one I would suggest improvement on is 'bold' - the left foot is slightly lifted from the ground and the feet turned inward - which isn't exactly bold, but more hesitant. I think bold would have the feet planted firmly on the ground and feet facing either straight or even slightly outward. But that's just my opinion. Still fantastic!

Nice :3
Although in my experience, when people are bold they tend to place their feet firmly on the ground giving them sound footing. Usually with shoulder length between feet and straight legs.
Knees together are in my mind not very solid footing.
But that's just me.
