Description
Not exactly a full tutorial but this is pretty much the gist of it. Only leave the important lines or the ones that suggest shape depending on how much you want to simplify it.This really depends on how realistic you want to draw. I recommend learning anatomy then simplifying just so you know how all the muscles, joints work etc. This will give you a better understanding of making poses and anatomy look more convincing.
Hope this is helpful

I like the "middle" detailed body. Not the full on detail and not the overly simple one... the middle.

You don't see too many of this kind of tutorial! Most of them are all about precision and detail, but I think this is a wonderful version!

I want to learn anatomy now.
And I want to learn how to pot down 2D versions of the anatomic shapes.
Because who cares about simple body shapes.

...comic artists
Also, to put down simple anatomic shapes you have to know how to do the same with realistic anatomy, it helps a lot

I mean, I used to think I had to learn simple shapes and then evolve to an higher level... but it's the opposite, actually.
Makes sense.
-digression-
The only one reason I have to draw is to draw my OCs without paying commissions.
I don't want to write comics or something.
So, if the first step for comics is to draw realistic things, I'm gonna stop at that step.
I still guess boxes and lines is needed for dynamic poses, so I think the progression is going to be: learn anathomy, draw with references, learn to draw stick and box figures, profit.
Even if it's probably going to be: stare at other's work, do nothing to improve, continue dreaming.

I recommend: Learn perspective and proportions with basic shapes. Learn anatomy and proportion next, and then move on to gesture drawing (dynamic/storytelling poses etc). :3

Hehe, "Even if it's probably going to be: stare at other's work, do nothing to improve, continue dreaming." lol that happen to me too, it's a weird illness without cure XD
I always had (and still have) problems with life drawing session and realistic drawing, i never had that ability. When i started drawing my "style" (if we can call it style) has started evolving from simple (and horrible) shaped drawings...then i discovered anatomy and everything changed, i still use a simple way of draw but now everything makes more sense to me, even though i don't like the way i draw, i'm a perfectionist.

Nah, it gives me the strenght to continue drawing...even if sometimes i really feel depressed cause of my perfectionism >.<

In my case, it means I continue tinkering and adding lines until I ruin it all.

Same, that's why i first do a sketch and then use a separate piece of paper for the final, if i study before drawing it it come better than drawing it without studying it, at least it work for me
Not really satisfied, but pleased XD
