trust me when i see something spectacular I'll let you know. Daily Deviations should be something exceptional and not just a pretty picture that pretty much anyone can take.

You were the only deviant to think it was not up to what deviants may construe to be a "DD Standard" (there isn't a standard at the moment but may be in the future). To be honest, I take a lot of pictures and I don't think I could have taken that picture. I have two friends who work in a professional studio and they say it is very difficult to get a child to cooperate long enough to get a good picture, and will take many shots to get one good one. Plus, this looks like a macro-setting, which I don't have on my camera. I have an option to be able to get "closer" but not macro range.
Thanks so much for keeping a look out for good DDs in the future. Totally appreciated.

I respect your opinion but just because you don't have a macro setting on YOUR camera doesn't mean the photograph is anything special. I don't get any artistic vibe from the image. And honestly it looks like one of those 'picked up my camera point and shoot random objects' lucky kind of shot.

If there's no real DD standard whats the point of having a DD

because there's nothing special about it other than the fact its a picture of a baby and a lot of people find babies cute. thats it! DD's should be exceptional and something that really stands one. Its a black and white baby photo. What's so special about that?
