Description
Two men went into the forest to cut lumber. They discovered a grove with a large tree at its center, more than twice as high as most of the others and much wider. They took out their axes, thinking they could cut down just this tree and have enough wood for weeks. The first swing struck the tree and erupted into a bright green flash. A woman covered in bark and leaves stepped out of the fresh wound in the tree, a dryad.

"Who are you to defile this forest?" She asked "It seems like you need to be cut down to size." The dryad raised her arms and leaves began to swirl around her. One of the men charged with his axe but she finished the spell and shoved a blast of green light towards them. The charging man found his empty hands colliding with a gigantic green toe, his axe that should have been in them was lying on the ground, far too large now for him to use.

The dryad laughed. "A bit too slow little bug. You should know that the forest fights back around here." She flicked him with her big toe, knocking him on his back and stepped over to where the other man had shrunk. "Now where did you go? If you don't stop hiding in the grass I'll probably just step on you by accident." She threatened. Her eyes caught a small figure running through the grass and shortly after, her fingers had as well. "Now what to do with you?" she mused.

She sat down with the man in hand nearby where she had left the other one. She saw him running and extended her leg, pulling him back towards her with her toes. "Ah ah ah, you're not getting away that easily." She said. "Rub my foot and I might consider not squishing you like the bug you are." Her attention turned to the one in her hand. He pleaded for her to let them go. "How cute, you think I care. You humans just take from the forest, consuming as you wish. Now it's my turn to consume you." He looked into her open maw as she held him above it. His screams filled the air when she dropped him into it. She tossed him around in her mouth with her tongue, battering him against every surface inside. Her saliva was sticky like sap and it clung to him, sticking to everything. A loud gulp announced his end, sending him to her stomach.

The Dryad's eyes caught the gaze of the man at her feet who was rubbing them as she had requested. "Looks like you're doing a good job. I might keep you around." she said. He wouldn't last long, she got tired shortly after and crushed him underfoot before retreating back to her tree for the night.
