It had been a few days since I had captured my new "familiar", a pink-haired fairy named Azalea. It took a few days for her to forgive me enough to tell me her name, but the best way to anyone's heart is through their stomach, and luckily Azalea's favorite food was something that was usually difficult to obtain: humans.

"Azalea! Feeding time!" I called as I stepped into my cottage with a suspicious jar strapped to my belt.

"Don't patronize me! I'm not a dog!" Azalea said indignantly, but she perked up in her cage in a contradictorily excited fashion. She had added a fifth glowing tally mark to the side of her cage since I had left.

"Agree to be my familiar and you can eat whenever you want so I won't have to. Plus you won't have to stay in that cage." I replied, putting the jar on the desk next to her cage. Azalea grumbled but her eyes lit up as she saw its contents: about a dozen inch-tall people. I opened the jar and grabbed two of them. They were just small enough to fit through the bars. They tried to grab the bars and stop me from pushing them inside, but they couldn't fight for long, especially not the one whose arm made a snapping sound as I used a bit too much force trying to wrangle him inside the cage. "Enjoy!" I said to Azalea, as I closed the jar and put it on the shelf next to my reagents in full view of the cage and the spectacle about to take place.

Both of Azalea's snacks tried to make a run for the bars, but were stopped by her own shrinking magic, which added to mine making them a tenth of an inch tall. The three-and-a-half inch fairy now towered over them like a giant, and her cage stretched like a cathedral. "Where do you think you're going little ones?" She asked. "The only place you should be going is in my belly!" She snapped up one in her hand, but missed the one with the broken arm. "You want to run? Fine! But my steps are much bigger than yours." She said as a shadow fell over him. He turned around just in time to see her foot slam down on top of him, adding several more broken bones to his collection.

Azalea refocused her attention on the one in her hands, licking her lips hungrily. Their screaming was quickly muffled behind them. She reveled in his struggling as she sucked on him and nibbled him. The other made an attempt to crawl out from beneath her foot. "Schtop schtruggling!" she said through a mouthful. She curled her toes, pulling them back underneath, then leaned onto them causing several more cracking noises. She swallowed her first snack, who was still thrashing against her tongue. They would last a few more minutes in her stomach, long enough to see the other's broken body splash into the acid with them. They hadn't struggled enough for her to enjoy, so she swallowed them unceremoniously.
