The mant's walk home from scavenging was long and hot, not helped by his constant dodging of an errant shoe or sandal. A mere block to humans had become miles and the heat of summer was an insult to injury. He was glad to see a table, the shade and cover was invaluable; his perceived salvation was his downfall. As he left the shadow of the table, a sandal snapped down in front of him.
"Whoops, I didn't see you there" she said sarcastically. "While your down there, grab a drink with me; I didn't know what you wanted, so I hope the sweat between my toes is what you like." She dropped the act, "Finish cleaning my toes by the time I'm done with my coffee... Unless you want to end up under them. I'll let you do the others when we get home."
