Class: Fighter
Race : Wood Elf
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Background: Noble Knight
Personality: Must prove that he can handle himself without the coddling of his family.
Slow to trust members of other races, tribes, and societies.
Background Ext.:
-Born into nobility and privilege, being the child of a minor lady and his father captain of the Royal Guard
-His family serves a higher-ranked noble, but lesser nobles serve him and his family.
-He grew up in a manor and his parents are paid tribute by peasants.
-His parents serve a higher baron, count, or duke.
-Raiders
- a hoard of raiders attacked his settlement and killed several of his people. It was a tribe of humanoids and dwarves. As a result he harbors deep resentment towards humans and dwarves and their origins.
-Training
- Schooled
- Learned to fight in a structured environment where he was exposed to a variety of weapons, armor, strategies, and tactics. He learned to fight as a part of a unit, how to follow orders, and command a squad. He prefers to fight alone, his pride gets ahead of him, fearing that someone else will drag him down and make him lose.
Once the settlement was restored and most lives back to normal, his father suggested to him to take up the position of Sergeant of the guard, given his capabilities shown through training and his ability to handle the raiders at the time. Only 120 years old, he refused the position and decided he needed to find a different path. One where he could avenge his people and fallen friends. He set out on his journey in the middle of the night, taking what he could carry with him and his companion Divinus (an ornate hawk-eagle).
During his journey, whilst heading into a nearby town for rest, a searing pain began in his chest, a bright glowing light emitted from under his tunic. He ripped open the top of his shirt to reveal a strange glowing mark on his chest (resembling the rune Algiz with two dots on either side). He clutched his chest, knees almost to the ground, stumbling into the nearest building. A tavern. It contained a motley crew of beasts and humans alike. He noticed a few other people there, doubled over in pain with a glowing mark somewhere on their body. Soon, a rumbling voice came from the back of the room. "I see you have all made it!!" he says. Time seemed to have stopped in that very moment, anyone not affected by this man's poisonous magic was stagnant. "My name is Baldric and I have summoned you all because I am in need of a crew. A crew of the best! You see, something was taken from me and I need it back, but I cannot do it alone." The pain from everyone's markings seemed to have subsided in order for everyone to give an answer. Vegvisir had time to actually get a good look at who he would be working with, if he accepted the challenge. This "team" was disgusting, riddled with human and half breeds. There was a small, humble wizard, about the size of a child, he was something much worse as he turned around to reveal a large beard, emitting from his hood. A dwarf. Across from him stood an old drunken bard, he smelled of sea salt and regret. To his left was another wood elf, but not anyone from his district, someone of a much lower class. Before he could fetch a sigh of relief that there was at least someone he could tolerate, he saw just behind the elf, two rough characters. A human, tall and gangly, with a great sword and beside him a smaller, more provocative teifling. She looked to cause trouble and seemed to be bound by religious protocol to help this corn stalk of a human.
Everyone was in an agreement to "help" this man, only after he gave his entire life savings and promised multiple times over that the party would receive more money than they ever had. Vegvisir was wary. He didn't need money, he didn't like others getting in his way, but nevertheless he agreed to join this group of "barbarians" and rogues. He would fight by himself and he wouldn't let anyone get in his way. He saw himself as the only one able to protect this band of idiots from what dangers lie ahead of them.
