Kiah: means "the star of the season", she is the oldest cub of Kovu and Kiara, at being the oldest she will be queen after her parents, during her whole life she had troubles with some of the pride members because they don't see her as the daughter of Kiara and granddaughter of Simba, for they point of view she was just like Zira, even if she wasn't Kovu's biological mother, her pelt, the black stripe, her outlander features and the scar on her left eye make her looks like Zira and Scar's cub, just for it they never trust her for being the future queen; but her parents, family and friends helps her during the bad days and make her notice that she can be more than just what the others see, with this she grew up confident and happy with herself, being proud of the scar she had.

Malaika: means "angel", the second born of Kovu and Kiara, she is from the same litter as Kiah, her white pelt was a surprise for every one of the pride, even for some days some lions doubt that Kovu was her father, but when they saw her green eyes, there was no doubt she was Kovu's daughter, but looking different was not easy for her, the other cubs of the pride tend to be cruel and say to her that she was a mistake, this make she become a shy and a bit lonely cub, except for her siblings and friends just a few lions see what she truly was, as a teenager she has the mission to form the next Lion Guard, at the beginning she refused to accept this place, but at the end she accepted it and promised to try her best.

Asante: means "thanks", the last cub of Kovu and Kiara, he was the only cub in Kiara's second litter; as his birth was premature the old lioness doubt that he was able to survive the first night, but he did it, with this his parents decide to call him like that, in thanks to the great kings of the past for saving their son, he grew up as a happy and cheerful cub, he never see the necessity of becoming king, he loved his sisters and never would do something to hurt them, and with a simple action in his teenage years he is chosen by his sister to be part of the lion guard as the strongest.

Nia: means "purpose", , she is the first born of Kion and Fuli, for many of the Pridelands animals a cub between them was impossible, but when the notice that Fuli was pregnant many of them start to said to Fuli or Kion that the cub will born dead, or that the cub won't survive the birth and many other bad words that they had to affront, it wasn't easy for them, the time passed and then in a beautiful morning Nia was born, she was perfectly healthy and despite of her appearance she was as important as any other cub in the pride, never less some lioness of closed mind try to kill her in many times never successfully, because her mother, dad and aunt were never too far; she is the oldest cub in the pride along with two grey cubs of an unknown father and an outlander.

Nuru: means "light", the second born of Fuli and Kion, looking more like a cheetah she acts like one, as a cub she enjoy the company of her siblings and friends, but as she grew up she started to like being on her own, so she decides to start her own life as a rogue in the Pridelands, she was able to survive by herself, but never mind the company of her sister and some of her friends.

Kopa: means "hearth", the last cub of Fuli and Kion, as a cub he was smaller than any other cub, even the females were bigger, at the beginning he was insecure of going by his own but as he grew his mane he decide to leave and find a pride of his own, after leaving the Pridelands he found his new home in the dessert pride, as he "defeated" the old king, he becomes the new king and changes the rules to be more like in the Pridelands even if the pride was unsure this change make progress in their live making them a strong pride.

Sefu: means “sword”, the first born of Vitani and Jelani, being an only cub in his litter was a bit sad for him, as he saw his cousins with brothers or sisters he always wanted to have one; as the seasons passed his wish came true, his mother had three cubs in her second litter, sadly two of them were killed, leaving him just one sister, after that day he promised to protect her even if he dies doing that.

Adia: means “gift”, after her mother and siblings were attacked, she survived it because her brother Sefu tries to scape and take her with him, after that tragedy her parents decide to call her like that, because it was a miracle that she was alive; as she grew up she found her life quite boring beacuse she was always under someones watch, specially her brother Sefu, so she leaves for some time but after discovering a terrible secret in her new pride she goes back to the Pridelands.

The two nameless cubs, they were the siblings of Sefu and Adia; they die so young that Vitani didn’t have time even to give a name to them.
