Personality: Riley tends to keep to himself. He oftentimes is far too immersed in his own thoughts and imagination that he sometimes cannot tell reality from fiction. He is known for having his head in the clouds, often becoming very angry when disturbed from his thoughts. He goes through swings of being completely crazed and impossible to reason with, to being like a pathetic, whiny little dog, to having a sort of deadpan seriousness. If you were to give him a boop on the nose, he would either give you a tired stare, give you a pleading puppy dog eye look, or he’d start chasing his tail like a hyperactive puppy.

Likes: Bugs, sweet things, horror-themed media, lore behind various monsters (like werewolves/vampires), writing, daydreaming

Backstory: Having endured a serious injury at an early age, toppling out of a tree and injuring his back, he never fully processed the reason why he was forced to go through all that suffering. Did he heal? Of course, but he still has the scars and the metallic implants down his spine to forever remind him of what he experienced.

It is worth noting that this injury was not properly treated until several years after it occurred. He hid it from everyone, both jolle and atraxi alike. He didn’t want to seem like he wasn’t tough enough to fight through the pain. His spine was twisted all wrong because of that fateful fall he took, but he didn’t want to admit that he’d made a mistake. He was eventually forced to get his back looked at, and he made a full recovery. It may not bring physical pain anymore, but it hurts him on a more emotional level. His scars are not just physical, but mental as well.

He cannot move like other jolles can. Or at least, he doesn’t think so. Maybe he’ll find the encouragement he needs in some good friends… But will anyone ever care enough to reach out? The constant cycle of self doubt and regret spiral in his thoughts… The mind of a creative daydreamer can be a world flowing with joy and vibrant colour… Or it can be a twisting torment of dark storms, set on destroying any sense of confidence and hope. He hides his feelings behind swings of eccentric behaviour. He never lets anyone get close enough to find out the truth.

The backstory for this guy is slightly inspired by some real life events Ive experienced. Albeit, some details are altered to make it fit better into Riley’s world, and also to make the situation a bit more direct and dramatic than it really was in reality. He has a lot of personal meaning in that sense.

Design notes:
- His back is almost always arched up as a result of the aftermath of his injury. He can straighten it, but it’s uncomfortable.
- The dark eyelids are only visible when his eyes are half closed.
- Only two of his small teeth stick out when his mouth is closed, the others are visible when he opens his mouth. It’s like a pair of snaggleteeth!
