Prologue:JC Chasez looked at the clock and sighed as he sunk back into his chair in the nearly empty waiting room at Orange County General Hospital that evening. Before this, JC was anxious to get home because he knew his answering machine would contain lots of messages from his agent about a lawsuit concerning something that happened long before he went solo. His mind started to race as a woman with all kinds of shopping bags stepped in front of the unsuspecting car. JC hit the brakes and the woman's bags went flying. Luckily, before anyone was hurt (or run over) JC stopped the car.
"What the hell were you thinking, lady?" JC asked after rolling down his window
"You scared me,young man. I'm so sorry." said the woman who appeared to be in her mid 40s
"Nevermind. Stuff happens and no one got hurt...are you okay?" JC asked as he got out of the car and came over to the woman
"My groceries!"said the woman in shock
JC looked around at what remained of the woman's things on the road
"Yeah, I'm sorry about that, ma'am. How about I make it up to you?"JC asked pulling out his wallet
Then the woman turned pale and fell over just as JC caught her as if she had passed out
"Ma'am?...Ma'am?" JC asked then looked around "Could I get some help over here please?"
Then, he suddenly noticed the ground was wet.
"Oh man! What the hell was I thinking?! JC! YOU ARE AN IDIOT!! How could I miss THAT?"
But now, JC had nearly fallen asleep when a nurse came up to him with the news.
"I'm afraid the Jane Doe you brought us has passed away. The last thing she wanted us to tell you before she went was that you should take care of her baby girl." the nurse said
JC nodded "okay." He knew he still felt guilty about the earlier events but knowing no one was hurt and the baby was okay, JC couldn't feel more relieved.
"Do you know what caused the woman's death?" JC asked
"An asthma attack while in the delivery room." the nurse said as she lead JC down the hall to the Nursery
JC watched the clock again. 12:00 midnight then turned his attention back to the window.
The nurse came out of the nursery with a pink bundle "Okay,sweetheart!" she said to the baby "say hello to your Daddy!"
The nurse then handed the baby over to JC who asked "Does she have a name yet?"
The nurse shook her head.
"I'll call her Luna. It's Spanish for Moon...Makes a bit of sense since she was born in the middle of the night." JC said as he looked at Luna
Later that afternoon, JC knew he had email and phone calls by the dozen about this lawsuit.
Every time the phone rang, he would pick it up then proceed to say "Get a Life! This happened a long time ago!"
the phone calls and emails got so out of hand, one day JC decided to disconnect the telephone and thow it out the window and disconnect the computer and just use his laptop instead! When Luna heard the loud resounding crash from the telephone hitting the pavement, it scared her so much. she cried.
When JC found Luna crying in her cradle, he lifted her from it and apoligized for his sudden outburst against the telephone.
"Sorry Luna, I'm just having a bad day. I don't mean for you to get upset." he said as Luna calmed her cries.
